Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are recognized as a new type of refractory organic pollutants. Due to the persistent environmental pollution, bioaccumulation, and biotoxicity PFCs, they have received extensive attention in recent years. To deal with risks caused by pollution distribution PFCs aquatic environment discussed detail, mainly for most widely used PFCs—perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS). The latest progress current processing technology PFOA PFOS is comprehensively introduced. It includes variety physical techniques remove such adsorption flocculation. has been confirmed that various adsorbents can play key role enrichment removal through high specific surface area hydrophobic interaction. In addition, traditional degradation processes often unsatisfactory prompting search more efficient cost-effective methods, great having made advanced oxidation (AOPs) based on radical decomposition This review also integrates multiple photocatalysis, electrochemical processes, ozone, Fenton process, ultrasound. paper provides an overview discusses their efficacy. explores future possible developments elimination technologies water treatment.
